What do you dislike?

When creating reports, sometimes its not clear what certain options do. A link from here to the description page within YellowFin Wiki would be useful and would save time.

What do you like best?

Being able to create all kinds of reports that links to our software. Its great to have real-time analytics and interactive reporting that all users can see and use. We have a number of users on site, so its also handy that they can see these reports whilst outside the office.

What do you dislike?

Calculated fields could be made slightly easier when dealing with more complex logic. Overall, very little.

What do you like best?

It is incredibly easy to install and linked up to a data source. Yellowfin itself is very easy to use and learning the basics is helped by the university and documentation available. Any issues we've come across are dealt with through the support function and the team at Yellowfin are more happy to help when needed.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes finding instructions on simple formatting issues can be difficult to find. I should use the online forum more often, but in most cases I'm just looking for the answer and continue on with my report building

The drag and drop report builder is easy to work with

some features like publish/summary ( to prepare tables with KPI's with a target) is not available automatically

the graphs and the filters in the dashboards are very intuitive

It is easy to use for show information in executive level

We have only just started utilizing the features so will need more time to play around

The storyboard feature is really useful and the linking of reports to one another. Also the YellowFin staff that assist us with implementing the solution have been fantastic, Brett and Shawn have been excellent

Some user-management options appear to be quite limited from the UI. Only sessions are available while session times etc have to be managed from the config database itself.

What do you like best?

The flexibility and ease of connection to multiple data sources. We have several data sources across regions and platforms and Yellowfin is able to connect to them all and provide reporting across them seamlessly.

Do consider Yellowfin for your BI, it is flexible and powerful.

What do you dislike?

Setting up reports is still relatively slow and issues like for example editing formulas in CASE statements should be made more simple and faster.

What do you like best?

YF is easy to use for a person with average experience with BI tools and has a number of features such as report broadcasting and storyboards that make it especially interesting for users that need to keep close to their data but have limited time to access a laptop - users that are site managers on the field for example. The possibility to embed reports is great as it enriches our web dashboard and allows users to access most of their data directly from our application.

We have had no issues with the product. We had some procedural problems which were addressed promptly though.

What do you like best?

We like the ease of use and the flexibility offered by the product the most. It is intuitive and as an OEM when we train our end users they are able to ramp-up quickly - this simplifies the knowledge transfer process.

We also liked the pragmatic licensing approach offered by the local team.
