3PAR storeservとデータセンター環境をインストールして、VMwareデータストアからSQLクラスターやNetbackup用の物理ストレージまで、あらゆるものにストレージを提供しました。
改善してほしいポイントは何でしょうか？
ステークホルダーは価格レベルでブロックするかもしれませんが、個人的には、ことわざにあるように、支払った分だけ手に入ると思います。もし私が少しでも気になるとしたら、それはレポーティングとモニタリングかもしれません。HpEは、3PARのレポート作成および構成ツールの開発に向けて大きな進歩を遂げています。開発を繰り返すたびに新しい機能が登場しますが、もっと多くのハウツー動画を見たいと思っています。
この製品・サービスの良いポイントは何でしょうか？
HPe 3PAR ASICは拳と同じくらいの大きさです。そのASICは3PARの主力製品であり、インライン重複排除によりCPUのオーバーヘッドを削減します。個人的には、システム全体のストライピング機能が気に入っています。これにより、ケージレベルでのフォールトトレランスが可能になり、パフォーマンスと耐障害性が向上します。物理ディスクを仮想状態 (チャンクレット) に抽象化するのは初めてでしたが、完全に理にかなっています。ネットアップのような RAID グループを扱う必要はもうありません。3PAR Dynamic Optimizationは、RAID 1からRAID 5への移行などのインフラストラクチャ要件に迅速に対応できる、自律的なストレージ階層化ツールです。

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've installed the 3PAR storeserv and datacenter environments to provide storage for everything from VMware datastore to physical storage for SQL clusters and Netbackup.
What do you dislike about the product?
Stake holder may bock at the price level, personally I feel you get what you pay for as the saying goes. If I had a beef at all it might be the reporting and monitoring. HPe is making strides to develop their 3PAR reporting and configuration tool. Each iteration of development brings out new features but I would like to see greater number of how to videos.
What do you like best about the product?
The HPe 3PAR ASIC is as big as your fist. That ASIC is the workhorse of the 3PAR providing inline deduplication reducing overhead of the CPU. I personally like the System-wide striping feature for greater performance and resilience allowing for faut tolerance at the cage level. Abstracting the physical disk to a virtual state (chunklets) was new to me but makes perfect sense. No longer do I need to deal with RAID groups and such as that with NetApp. 3PAR Dynamic Optimization is an autonomic storage tiering tool that gives the ability to quickly infrastructure requirements such as going from RAID 1 to RAID 5.
