物理/ストレージ環境全体を1つのデバイスにバックアップできました。必ずしもスマートディスク機能をそれほど活用したわけではありませんが、主にnetvaultを使用してバックアップをテープに保存していました。競合他社よりも速度ははるかに遅いものの、説明どおりに機能したようです。
改善してほしいポイントは何でしょうか？
Netvaultのバックアップ方法は非常に古いようです。私たちは最近、新製品に切り替え、現在この製品と新製品を並べて使用していますが、他の製品で利用できる機能や、この新製品で利用できるサポートスタッフとの比較はできません。
この製品・サービスの良いポイントは何でしょうか？
環境全体を管理する中央の Web コンソールがあるのが気に入りました。サポートは知識が豊富で、私のすべての質問に満足のいく答えを出すことができたようです。テープへのバックアップはかなり簡単に思えました。
検討者にお薦めするポイントがあれば記入ください
他に何があるか見てください。他の競合他社で欲しいものをすべて手に入れることができましたが、最終的には安価でした。NetVault環境と比べると、他の製品で利用できるすべての機能が信じられませんでした。この製品は意図したとおりに機能し、物理サーバとストレージ環境をテープにバックアップするためだけに使用されていましたが、仮想サーバ環境のバックアップには使用できませんでした。仮想サーバ環境のバックアップには、現時点でほとんどすべてが揃っています。

Quest Netvault for Backups
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to backup our entire physical/storage environment all to one device. We didn't necessarily utilize the smart disk feature as much but we primarily used netvault to get our backups to tape. This seemed to work as described although at a much slower rate than the competitor.
What do you dislike about the product?
Netvault seems to be very old school in their methods of backups. We are recently switching to a new product and are currently running this product and the new one side-by-side and there is no comparison to the features available in the other product as well as the support staff going above and beyond with this new product.
What do you like best about the product?
I liked that there was a central web console to administer the entire environment. Support seemed knowledgeable enough to be able to give satisfactory answers for all of my questions. Backing up to tape seemed pretty straight forward.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
See what else is out there as well. I was able to get get everything I wanted in another competitor which was also cheaper in the end. I couldn't believe all of the features available to me in other products compared to that of the netvault environment. Although the product did works as it was intended, which was purely used to backup our physical servers and storage environment to tape, we were not able to utilize it to backup our virtual server environment which obviously is where most everything is at this point.
