Great Product - Used to be Free, Now Requires New Users to Pay
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
It is very important to test any changes to your website to measure the impact on conversion rate. In my time optimizing websites I've learned that sometimes ugly wins and fancy isn't always better. Let the numbers do the talking.
What do you dislike?
Not entirely Optimizely's fault, but sometimes we see a "flicker" effect on page load when we have content changing above the fold. Also, Optimizely's reporting doesn't always match up with the same things that I see in Google Analytics.
What do you like best?
Optimizely is a great tool to for testing or for throwing hot-fixes on your website while awaiting dev to hard-code them. I love how easy the editor is to make changes to your site. With a little jquery knowledge, you can do some amazing things in your tests.
Recommendations to others considering the product
One of the most important things to remember is to let the experiments run for long enough that they are significant. Often times we get excited when an idea we have is performing well, but it's important to remember that at the beginning, just a few purchases can greatly affect the results one way or the other.
