What do you dislike?

lo peor es la instalaciﾃｳn, es muy engorrosa y complicada si no se sabe hacer o si no se tiene una guia, es muy facil configurar mal algﾃｺn aspecto y tener problemas mﾃ｡s adelante.

Sistema gestor de bases de datos propietario de mircrosoft. La potencia de este sistema radica en su optimizaciﾃｳn y fﾃ｡cil integraciﾃｳn con proyectos de desarrollo. Para desarrollar aplicaciones web potentes en .net es sin duda una de las mejores opciones. La rapidez de conexiﾃｳn y la potencia y versatilidad de los procedimientos almacenados hacen que sea muy sencillo trabajar en esta plataforma. Ademﾃ｡s es muy visual y el lenguaje de consultas que incorpora es muy intuitivo. El propio editor de consultas te va sugiriendo ayudas para las tablas y los campos de las mismas, lo cual facilita mucho la labor de realizar consultas, actualizaciones y tareas de mantenimiento. Incluye el Microsoft Sql Server Management Studio que es la herramienta con la que conectar tanto al servidor local o remotos y con la que trabajar de forma visual sobre la base de datos. Ademﾃ｡s incorpora muchos generados de informes, reportes para poder visualizar el estado de las bases de datos y tomar medidas oportunas.

si estas desarrollando .NET, sin duda una soluciﾃｳn Microsoft es la que mayor potendial y nivel de integraciﾃｳn te puede aportar, tanto a nivel de cﾃｳdigo como a nivel de IDE (Visual Studio)

What do you dislike?

It lacks some of the features that other RDBMS provide. The database and resource monitoring is not as good with the base system. Have to buy additional monitoring tools to best manage the database especially on the alerting side. It is difficult to code the trends in resource utilization etc.

What do you like best?

Easy to learn, use and implement. It is flexible. Very easy to Administer using GUI based tool. Also easy to create copies of databases for testing purposes. It does provide the latest high availability features and backup options.

Sometimes have some failures as it allows an attacker to increase privileges in the system, through the introduction of erroneous registry information in the part of SQL Server that stores the service data of accounts.

What do you like best?

Microsoft SQL is a versatile tool.It can work as an independent system shared with a department using a LAN (Local Area Network). In our company application, SQL runs on servers, central computers and mid-range services, up to user-level systems such as desktops, laptops and others . It is scalable in design, allowing expansions from simple to multi-user environments.

What do you dislike?

Nothing I can think of right now. Overall really good experience.

What do you like best?

The ease of integration with any application. The ease of data access and usability. The ease of adding of removing users. Securing different access levels for each user. Ease of training for new employees.

Overall an excellent tool for data gathering and visualization. Excellent support and large user community.

There can be options you are completely unaware of that need to be engaged to operate. While you can be bombarded by the number of options available that you will never need.

SQL Server is the go to database server that will work with almost any software and is widely support by Microsoft and a legion of professionals. It is a very mature and established product that shows the refinement of being fine tuned for years. It is easy to use and can be learned quickly.

It is so large an environment that it is easy to get turned around and make things more complicated that n they need to be.

There are so many users out there so when you hit a wall, you know someone eklse has already solved your problem.

Still missing some nice functions that are available in mysql like Upsert.

Very robust database software and very easy to report out of.

There is still some work around that needs to be done, I can mainly say my inexperience with SQL would account for it.

the management studio, it makes life so much easier for moderate intermediate users like me.

I like that it allows you to debug a table for any errors. You can set it up to use TSQL queries as well, either from the GUI or from the command line query. I have also used the backup database/detach/attach functionality and it allows you to go through these procedures with proper instructions. I just had a small background, but the rest of it is clearly indicated in the instructions provided while you do the procedure. Big credit for that.

Read up as much as possible from the internet, they have books, manuals.

If you know how to write queries already that's great, other wise use management studio to help you write difficult queries .

If you feel that you need more information there are tons of websites that allow you to write dummy queries that allow you to write it against their dummy databases instead of you having to run it against your and going through the trouble of backing up and restoring databases.
