What do you dislike?

Microsoft SQL Server uses a core language, which is different from other database applications such as MySQL and Oracle. Companies that need programming or analysis services may find it more difficult to find a resource that hosts these services at a reasonable price. Programmers are also required to learn a different language and setup for the Microsoft SQL Server environment, so companies that want to upgrade need to teach current employees how to work with the application.

As all Microsoft products, servers can have glitches and run into infrequent issues requiring fixes or reboots

Microsoft never fails in building the best software for your business, SQL is not different. Would highly recommend

What do you dislike?

datatype conversions, at times complication in SQL, sorting and formatting seem to be broken and the foreign key contraints - OMG. Error messages are not user friendly. Ability to reference columns, rows and tables is also not so good.

What do you like best?

Easy to Create tables and enforce data integrity along with Performing effective single-table queries. ability to Query multiple tables by using joins, subqueries, table expressions etc. Option to Use advanced query techniques such as window functions, pivoting, and grouping sets makes it much more advanced and simplified UI is a win-win.

What do you dislike?

It can go out of control very easily, administrators need to be really careful and have to be well trained. It's a good technology which is evolving fast. But you need a lot of planning and tight control.

What do you like best?

Let's just admit it is a windows software so really really easy to set up and maintain. You can get running in a few hours and it all good. But without good DBA, procedure and security and change control, it can quickly spiral out of control. suddenly you can have 100s of databases running all over and you have no idea why and who is using them. security can be tricky to maintain as you need to know inside out of active directory and Microsoft user administration.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Plan and plan ahead. Have good DBA even if you have cloud or whatever it's not a replacement for a good administrator. Security and role-based access is very important, you have to think it through and manage the process as a complete lifecycle.

What do you dislike?

The first admin days are a little bit diffivult to manage and i think the user permisions maybe MS can improve a little bit.

What do you like best?

Sql srv its powerfull database with a hugh tips to configure. Flexivility, support, compativility and easy admin make sql server one of the better DB in the market.

Only. Reform the user permisions... i think its a little bit old style.

What do you dislike?

You need to pay for the licensing and its not cheap, also you need a pretty decent server that has a minimo of hardware specification, otherwise it will go slow and affect production.

What do you like best?

You can check in real time all the SQL transactions, making it very easy to find locks and heavy queries that slow the system for all the users. Its easy to write queries and save them in the system.

Its a very reliable database manager, failures are very rare and downtimes almost non-existant.

Its easy to start using it for the first time, and there's a lot of info on the oficial site and around the net.

I absolutely recomend it for your most critical Databases, Microsoft SQL is a relaiable SQL Manager that will make easier for you and your enterprise to manage your Databases in real time, and with little to no problems.

What do you dislike?

Nothing really. I've been using MS SQL for a long time now. So I'm used to the UI.

What do you like best?

Ability to query database, create views, open multiple connection.

Lo que no me termina de convencer es su rapidez, es algo mﾃ｡s lento que otros competidores a la hora de ejecutar las consultas o de intentar descomponer las tareas, pero nada que sea algo muy fastidioso.

No es tan rﾃ｡pido como puede ser MySQL pero es mucho mﾃ｡s intuitivo.

Lo que mﾃ｡s me gusta de Micrsoft SQL es su interfaz grﾃ｡fica, es muy intuitiva y muy clara, eso ayuda mucho a lo hora de gestionar las bases de datos. A la hora de hace las consultas se agradece la versatilidad y eficiencia del gestor. Estoy muy contento con este gestor de bases de datos, de hecho es el que mﾃ｡s utilizo debido a que es muy intuitivo y para poder responder a clientes y demﾃ｡s es mucho mﾃ｡s llevadero. He usado otros tipos de gestores de bases de datos, cada uno tiene sus ventajas, pero como opiniﾃｳn personal prefiero Microsoft SQL.
