It crashes a lot when you are hatching with the intersection snap on.

It can be used with goggle Earth by synchronizing.

use of command bar, it is all about clicking, instead of typing.

Did your company switch to MicroStation from another software?

We work with AutoCAD with 3 licences of MicroStation, the goal is to transition to MicroStation however, not all of our designer know how to use it.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that it often has bug problems.

I like best the referencing tools which make it easy to bring in other drawings.

Was much easier to learn than AutoCAD

Key board functions are disabled or not of much use except for typing texts.

Very user friendly, easy to use, saves time compared to other cad softwares, multifunction.

What do you dislike?

I minimum dislikes about Microstation SS4.

My main issues are with the Power InRoads SS4 software. It has too many bugs and limitations. Bentley should have waited until it was fully developed, debugged, tested in the real world, and received input from engineers using it on real-world projects prior to releasing it.

Microstation SS4 is a solid software platform for use by all transportation disciplines.

Changing the way workspaces work in the newest edition. There is a lot of effort just to try and figure out what changes to make to existing workspaces to get them to work in the connect edition.

What do you like best?

It is pretty intuitive to get drawings produced and the file format doesn't keep changing so there aren't any issues with backwards compatibility.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It is worth the shot. The biggest feature is that the file format doesnt change (hasnt changed since early 2000's) so you dont need to worry about the version installed on your users machines. Every version from V8i will work your dgn files without a problem.
