What do you dislike?

I don't think Microstation is very user friendly. I have been a long time ACAD user and for the last year and a half have been using Microstation at my new job. While there are alot of similarities, there are also alot of differences. Some functions I like better in ACAD, some I like better in Microstation.

What do you like best?

Microstation offers some features that ACAD does not. For example, if I need to number parking spaces, it has the ability to number them automatically with a simple click. I've used that function alot in my job. I also like the way I can use reference files and can easily click between the reference file and the active file to make changes.

It is a powerful program but you need to take the time to learn it.

I dislike the support given, considering that a response is generally required soon after a ticket has been logged

Very intuitive and easy to learn. Training is very easy to follow.

too much button clicking. customization and standard setups is complicated and not as intuitive as other drafting platforms. some less frequently used menus or options are hidden and hard to find. Legacy properties are difficult to work with and not easily converted (RSC linestyles,etc

customization to meet workflow requirements and drafting standards, nimble and quick backend system.

bentley has a decent online learning and troubleshooting platform

it is awkward to use the colon as a foot indicator

I do not like the licensing system and the fact that it opens up even if there is no license available.

I like the ability to work with TerraSolid products efficiently.

The slow nature of having large files referenced together.

I like its stability to view large files. It has good editing capabilities and can integrate with many visual programs.

Use the newest version and see what other packages you will be using on top to make your decision if its worth going Microstation or AutoDesk

ABD Connect Edition does n't missen functionality it had before in V8
