What do you dislike?

I dislike the upgrading or patching of the main server itself. maybe its my version, but it seems tough and not simple always.

What do you like best?

I like the fact that the end point software can control other aspects of the users device and not just worry only about AV Defs or scans. Web control & USB control are two of those things.

What do you dislike?

Sophos Endpoint Security does not have very robust application control. A few competitors in the market have a lot more customizations for application control. A pro and a con, is that due to the low false positive rate, Sophos also has a somewhat higher false negative rate, and is not as strict as some other antivirus applications out there.

What do you like best?

Sophos Endpoint Security does not impact system performance nearly as much as competitors. This allows a business to be productive, and not worry or be concerned about system performance when doing day to day optimizations. One drawback to the low impact on performance is that full system scans may take awhile to be completed. Sophos has a very low false positive rate when finding malware.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Sophos Endpoint Protection is good baseline protection from malware. However, other products seem to be excelling in this area Bit9/CarbonBlack, Cylance, and Malwarebytes.

What do you dislike?

When users experience blocked items it's not clear how to authorize the blocked items. I had a user who had two legitimate PDFs blocked and there was no clear way to authorize them. A pop-up probably would have helped.

What do you like best?

Sophos is extremely easy to deploy and manage. The console design is intuitive and clear in purpose. The endpoint client takes almost new resources on the workstation, which makes my users very happy. The automated reporting is robust and valuable.

What do you dislike?

The need for agents running on the system, which increases the attack footprint available to the bad guys.

What do you like best?

Fewer false positives with more information on the threat report.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If your security software is constantly at the top of your CPU utilization list, it's time to switch.

That's why I did and I'm happy I did.
