What do you dislike?

Sketchup could use a better native rendering engine

What do you like best?

With proper file organization, sketchup can easily outperform any other 3D modelling tool

Not great for precision work. Can sometimes select and drag additional points or lines thus messing up other geometry

Very easy to learn and teach software. Produces relatively small files. I love the plugins and model libraries allowing for a huge amount of models produced by users. Very fast to sketch or plan smaller projects

Try the free version! It's a great software and fast to use. Serious users should think about buying Sketchup Pro

It窶冱 hard to orient your work and without many plug ins you can窶冲 achieve revit quality work, it窶冱 really only optimal for design concept in my opinion

Easy to use line drawing features that make it easy to 窶徭ketch窶� many models quickly

Great for quick design, but I wouldn窶冲 rely on it for BIM

What do you dislike?

I hate how you have to find and download plug-ins for this software in order to get the most out of it. On top of that, it's not always the easiest to figure out which plug-in is right for you, and the application you're trying to achieve. There's a lot out there to play around with, not a whole lot of direction.

What do you like best?

I love how easy SketchUp is to find, learn, and use. It's a great tool for 3D modeling beginners to get an idea of how to push and pull objects, faces, and manipulate images in a 3D environment easily.

try it, you literally have nothing to loose

Sometimes it is hard to use because of the 3D. However you can change the settings to Top Bottom Right or Left Side.

You can draw in 3D. Also you can use 2D to estimate the square footage of a cross section.

Be patient with this and use youtube for watching others use this item.

What do you dislike?

The most are top resources that it`s needed when you load more objects in it. I`m using an I7 with 8 GB RAM and it`s weird when you need to wait a long time for loading big projects. Also the export jpeg 2D is not the best!

Best is that I`ve assimilated it in a couple of weeks for basic use.

Best to use for fast drawing maps and festival Sites. Easy to assimilate

There isn't much to dislike about the software, though I would like a little more control over the perspective tool.

I love the ease of turning objects into 3D.

Lots of great information online to learn how to use the software. Put in the hours and you will be rewarded.

does not easily integrate into our workflow in the office using revit

easy to knock out 3d views and massing for sketch study overlays

decide if you can live without using the model you create as part of their final work

What do you dislike?

I only use the free version of the product but have seen how handy Layout is when putting together a document/build list/plan and it would be nice to have some version (even if watered down) of it in the free version.

Very easy to use, for what I use it for (woodworking), there are a number of basic tools and techniques that are used and are super simple.
